Just got off a 12-hour session staring at the 4-hour charts and man, my eyes are actually bleeding. If you haven’t been watching the Nasdaq or the Euro pairs today, you’re either a genius or you’re actually getting some sleep, which I envy. I spent the last three days stress-testing a new scalping bot I’ve been coding on the side, and let me tell you, the market is a meat grinder right now. I thought I had the settings dialed in, but the volatility we’re seeing around these support levels is just... it’s nasty. Total stop-loss hunting season out there.
So, let's talk about the NQ for a second because that's where the real blood was. I saw the Nasdaq-100 hit that 29000.00 support level and honestly, I thought it was gonna blow right through it. Every fiber of my being was screaming at me to short the breakdown, classic FOMO, right? But the wave analysis was screaming buy. It held that 29k floor like a champ, just like it did back in August. I watched my bot try to enter a short positoin right at the bounce and I had to manualy kill the trade before it got absolutely rekt. It’s crazy how many times we see these levels hold and yet we still try to bet against them. If you’re lookin at the charts now, it looks like it's headin straight for 30000.00. But man, that support zone is the only thing keepin the bulls alive right now.
I had a personal setup test runnin on EUR/USD this morning too, and it was a total headache. We’ve been in this consolidation phase forever, just hovering above 1.1120. I’m seeing what looks like a bullish flag forming on the 4-hour, but the resistance at 1.1240 is acting like a brick wall. My bot kept trying to scalp the noise in between and just got chopped to pieces. I lost about 2% of the test account just on spread and slippage because the price is just vibrating in place. It’s one of those lessons you have to learn over and over—sometimes the best trade is no trade. If you aren't waitin for the clear breakout above 1.1240, you’re just donating liquidity to the market makers.
And don’t even get me started on the Loonie. The CAD has been on a seven-day rally which is basically unheard of in this environment, but it’s finally steadying out ahead of the rate decisions. I saw some guys trying to DCA into a reversal on day four of that rally and they just got steamrolled. You can't fight a seven-day trend with a "it has to drop eventually" mindset. That’s how you end up with zero in the tank. I’ve been there, trust me. Back in 2019, I tried to "average down" on a currency pair that was trending against me for two weeks straight. By the time it finally turned, I didn't have enough margin left to even stay in the play. Total rookie move that still haunts me when I’m staring at these long green candles.
Also, did anyone catch Gold? It dipped below $4,000 which is wild to see given how things have been. It feels like everything is just waiting for a massive catalyst. GBP/USD is the same way, just staring at that 1.3420 resistance like it’s the promised land. If it clears that, we might see some real movement, but until then, it’s just a lot of fakeouts and wick-outs. I’m honestly exhausted just watching the tape.
The biggest takeaway from my bot testing session this week? The "bullish flag" or the "support bounce" only works if the volume is actually there to back it up. Right now, it feels like everyone is just indecisive. I’m seeing people get lulled into a sense of security because we’re consolidating, and then BOOM, a massive wick comes out of nowhere to sweep the liquidity below 1.1120 on the Euro or 29000 on the NQ. If you’re not using hard stops right now, you’re basically playing Russian Roulette with a fully loaded chamber.
I’m probably gonna sit out the next few sessions and just let the bot run on a demo account. My heart cant take the manual overrides anymore. It’s funny how you can have ten years of experience and still feel like a complete noob when the market starts doing that choppy, sideways dance. It’s like the market knows exactly where your "safe" stop loss is and it just wants to tickle it before moving in your direction. Anyway, stay safe out there and don't over-leverage your bags just because you’re bored with the consolidation.
You guys seeing the same flag on the Euro or am I just huffing copium at this point?
