Alright guys, let's take a step back for a second and stop chasing every single shiny object the media shoves in our faces. I was sitting at my desk this morning with my second cup of coffee, looking over my long-term portfolio sheets and just shaking my head at how easily everyone gets sucked into the latest narrative. Every single week there is some new panic or some massive breakthrough trend that is supposedly going to change the entire financial landscape forever, and half the room instantly gets rekt because they trade pure fomo instead of actual market structure.
Take the forex side of things for instance. Look at what just happened with the New Zealand dollar slumping hard after that surprise RBNZ rate hold. Everyone expected a twenty five basis point hike, and when it didn't happen, the kiwi dropped like a rock by over one and a half percent right out of the gate. People were screaming about trend reversals and multi year supports breaking, but if you actually zoom out and look past the immediate noise, it is just central bank games playing out like they always do. They signal further tightening down the road anyway, yet the algos panicked on the headline alone. It is amateur hour.
And then you look at the crypto space, which never fails to deliver its own brand of chaos. Just saw the news about Bithumb disclosing another data leak hitting their internal mobile systems used by employees. Seriously, how many times are we going to see centralized exchanges getting caught with their pants down over basic opsec failures? It impacts internal sharing systems, user trust takes another hit, and twitter goes up in flames for about forty eight hours before everyone forgets and moves on to the next shiny token. I remember back in twenty seventeen when I lost a chunk on an exchange that went belly up because I chased some high yield staking nonsense—total rookie mistake. Ever since that lesson, I learned to keep my cold storage locked down tight and completely ignore the day to day exchange drama. If you are scalping every little security FUD headline, you are just feeding the market makers.
Meanwhile, the greenback is marching right up to a two week high right ahead of the Fed decision, while the euro is getting battered over French political worries. It is just endless rotation. Everyone is trying to guess Powell's next move or panic selling European equities over local noise, forgetting that macro trends take months, sometimes years, to fully play out. Stop letting the twenty four hour news cycle dictate your DCA strategy. I am sticking to my boring accumulation plan and ignoring the theater.
Anybody actually holding physical or just day trading this Fed meeting?
