EBF Are we really blaming the lawyers for those terrible earnings?

Alright guys, I need to vent because the sentiment around Ennis lately is giving me major pause. I keep seeing folks on the boards trying to spin the latest EBF earnings report as some sort of bullish "hidden value" play. The narrative seems to be that sales are up, and the only reason earnings took a hit is because of some "one-off" legal expenses. Ngl, this sounds like absolute copium to me. Since when did we start giving companies a free pass for burning the bottom line just because they managed to push some more volume?

Let's look at the reality here instead of just FOMOing into a supposed dip. Sales growth is completely useless if management can't actually convert it into net income for shareholders. Blaming "legal items" is the oldest trick in the book to make a deteriorating business look healthy. If a boring, old-school print company is constantly dealing with legal headaches that eat into their margins, that’s a massive operational red flag, not a temporary blip.

Everyone is acting like this is a classic value play, but I smell a value trap. While retail is busy holding the bag and hoping those legal costs magically disappear next quarter, the smart money is probably looking at those shrinking margins and quietly planning an exit. If they can't protect their bottom line now, what happens when sales inevitably slow down?

Are you guys actually buying this "hidden business" theory, or is it time to admit EBF is just a slow-motion wreck?

Classic management cope lmao. Blaming the suits while everyone holding gets totally rekt. My SL hit immediately on that earnings dump, chart is absolute dog water now.

Spot on. Whenever you hear management start pointing fingers at the legal department for a massive miss, it's usually a sign that the rot goes deeper than they want to admit. I was looking at the daily chart earlier and it's a complete disaster—broken structure everywhere.

Good on you for having that SL in place. I'm sitting on my hands for now because there's zero reason to try and catch this knife until we see some actual consolidation. Patience is key when the chart looks this ugly.
