Is it too late to jump on the coffee trade?

Hey everyone, total newbie here so please go easy on me. I’ve been watching the charts all morning and noticed Arabica coffee just hit an all-time high because of all the news surrounding the U.S. and Colombia tariff situation. Ngl, seeing a ticker go parabolic like that gives me serious FOMO, but I have no idea how these trade disputes actually work in the long run.

Does this mean the price is going to keep flying now that the threat is off the table, or are we looking at a massive pullback soon? I’m just trying to figure out if this is a buy-the-dip moment or if I’ve already missed the boat entirely. How do you guys usually handle commodities news like this without getting burnt? Any advice for a beginner trying to wrap their head around this?

If everyone and their mother is talking about buying coffee because of some headlines, that’s usually the exact moment I’m looking to hit the sell button. Markets love to bait in the retail crowd right at the exhaustion point, and you’re basically describing a textbook blow-off top. Good luck holding that bag when the smart money starts exiting their positions. Honestly, walk away now. You're just asking to get slaughtered.

Be careful chasing parabolic moves when the macro backdrop is this fragile. With the Fed still playing chicken with inflation and liquidity drying up, jumping into a commodity at all-time highs feels like catching a falling knife—or chasing a blow-off top, which is honestly worse. Everyone is looking for a hedge against the mess in D.C., but once the retail crowd piles in, the smart money is already halfway out the door. Don't be the exit liquidity for the big desks. Cash is king when everything is this overextended. Stay patient.

Chasing a parabolic chart at all-time highs is a great way to blow up an account before the week is even over. If you really feel the need to jump into this, keep your position size tiny—like 1% of your capital max—and put a hard stop loss right under the nearest consolidation candle. Don't marry a trade just because of FOMO.

Everyone here is spot on. Chasing a green candle at ATH is basically begging to get rekt by the market makers. If you really have to scratch that itch, keep it degen size and don't get married to the trade. Don't be the exit liquidity for the whales.
