Hey guys, still pretty new to the trading scene and trying to get my head around how to actually read market news. I was scrolling through the latest financial services roundup today and saw names like SoFi Technologies and Experian getting highlighted in the market talk section. Ngl, SoFi has been sitting on my watchlist for weeks, but every time it starts moving, I get hit with massive FOMO and end up freezing because I don't know if I'm buying the top or catching a real wave.

I really want to understand how you guys use these sector roundups in your daily strategy. Does a general market talk report like this usually push price action, or is all of this already priced in by the big players before us retail traders even read it? I can't tell if I should be trying to scalp these short term fluctuations or just buy a bag and hold through the volatility.

Would love some advice from the seasoned traders here on how you handle these financial tech stocks when they pop up in the news. Do you actually trade off these roundups or just ignore them completely?

Honestly man, most of those roundups are just noise and by the time you read it, the institutions already made their move. Don't sweat missing the initial pop. If you're looking at SoFi, just pull up the daily chart and check if the RSI is showing any hidden bullish divergence before you panic buy. Wait for a pullback to a moving average, and keep an eye on the MACD for a proper crossover instead of just chasing green candles based on a news blurb.
