charts are absolutely unhinged today guys. Grab your coffee or whatever energy drink you run on because the 4H and daily candles on BTC/USD right now are printing some of the craziest price action we’ve seen all quarter.

I literally woke up at 5:30 am, rolled over to check TradingView on my phone like a complete degen, and nearly dropped my screen when I saw that nasty flush straight through the 80k psychological floor down to fresh six-week lows. My immediate thought was that I was getting rekt on my swing long from earlier this week. Reminded me way too much of late 2021 when I tried catching a falling wedge without waiting for the candle close and got liquidated before breakfast lol. Costly lesson back then, never DCA into knives without confirmation on market structure! But once I actually sat down at my desk, opened the orderbook, and started mapping out the volume delta, this whole dump is starting to smell like a massive bear trap and liquidity hunt.

Look at the context here. ActionForex and the news feeds are screaming panic over the multi-billion Binance security breach shockwave combined with tech sector risk-off dragging spot down. But turn off the headlines for a second and just stare at the pure market mechanics.

First off, where did the price stall? We wicked straight into the 78.2k - 78.8k high-timeframe demand block. If you pull the anchored VWAP from the previous swing low six weeks ago, that exact zone is acting like a trampoline. The open interest flushed hard on the break below 80k—classic stop run clearing out late fomo longs and triggering cascading liquidations. But notice the volume profile on that flush. It was instantly met with massive passive absorption.

And why would there be so much hidden spot absorption while retail is panic dumping? Look at the Binance announcement: they just confirmed 90% of the stolen assets are already replenished, and they’re targeting Sunday for withdrawals to go back live. How did they replenish that much so fast? They’ve literally been scooping assets through market buys and OTC desks. The exchange itself has been acting as a structural buyer while the market dumped on the headline risk. You cannot make this up. They are chewing through sell walls while retail is de-risking into deep support.

Now layer on the macro confluence. The Dollar index (DXY) just dipped significantly after the Fed and ECB rate decisions, with the Euro and Pound extending strong gains. Usually, crypto lags DXY drops by anywhere from 24 to 48 hours. We have a weakening dollar macro backdrop, a massive liquidity sweep below an obvious round number (80,000), and an artificial spot buyer (Binance OTC desks) absorbing the float before Sunday.

Technically, what are the triggers here? I’m scalping the range right now but waiting for the higher timeframe confirmation to size up.

If the daily candle closes back above 80,400, that confirms a textbook Swing Failure Pattern (SFP) on the daily. When you sweep a major six-week low, take all the liquidity below 80k, and close back above the level, the mean reversion back toward range highs is usually violent. If we reclaim 80.4k with sustained volume, my first upside target is the supply cluster at 82.8k, followed by a gap fill up toward 84.5k where the initial breach breakdown started.

On the flip side, if we lose 77.8k on a 4H close, then invalidation hits and this turns into a true trend continuation down to test the 74k-75k macro support band. That’s why you always use a tight stoploss, no excuses. Don't just blind long because funding turned negative.

I’m currently nibbling spot here and setting alerts for an hourly reclaim of 80.2k with rising CVD. Sunday withdrawal unlock is going to bring absolute mayhem to volatility, and if shorts get caught offside above 81k it’s going to ignite one hell of a short squeeze into next week.

Are you guys bidding this blood below 80k or sitting on your hands till Sunday clears out?
