Hey everyone,
I’m pretty new to crypto trading (just started a few months ago) and I’m still trying to figure out how geopolitical news affects the market.
I just saw a headline saying the US Treasury has sanctioned an Iranian exchange called "BitBank." Apparently, they were processing Bitcoin payments through some maritime scheme called "Hormuz Safe" and helped move hundreds of millions of dollars in BTC to the IRGC.
This sounds like a pretty massive deal, but I don't really know how to read the room on this one.
As a beginner, I have a few questions for the seasoned traders here:
1. Does news like this usually cause a market-wide panic sell, or is it already "priced in"?
2. Will this lead to the US government cracking down even harder on everyday crypto users and exchanges?
3. Should I be worried about my small BTC holding right now, or is this just noise?
I’m trying really hard not to panic-sell, but seeing "US sanctions" and "hundreds of millions in Bitcoin" in the same sentence makes me nervous. How do you guys analyze news like this, and what's your game plan? I'd love some advice!
