AI optical chip stock up 100 percent on new tech release, looking for entry or short trap?

So I've been watching this lesser-known AI chip ticker that just popped up on my scanners after literally doubling over the last run. They just dropped news about a new chip architecture that supposedly doubles optical speeds, which is massive given how tight data center bottlenecks are right now. The momentum behind the move is wild, but ngl I'm trying to figure out if we're looking at a legitimate breakout continuation or if big money is just driving FOMO to dump into retail liquidity.

Looking at the charts, it's flying past previous high-volume nodes and pushing hard toward new local ATHs. The volume on this latest leg up is insane, but it's super extended on the daily RSI. I'm trying to gauge order flow here to see if institutions are actually stacking bids on the lower timeframes or if this is going to be a classic pump-and-dump liquidity sweep before a heavy retracement back to major support.

If we do get a cool-off, I'm eyeing the previous breakout zone to see if buyers step up and flip it into solid support. How are you guys playing this price action right now? Are you waiting for a pullback to key levels or scalping the momentum on the lower timeframes?

Chasing a +100% move after a press release drops is just asking to get dumped on. If you weren't filled in the first 5 seconds of the headline hitting the wire, you're literally just providing exit liquidity for the algos.

I’d wait for the initial pump to exhaust itself and look for a short trap to fade, or honestly just save your capital for actual scheduled catalysts like CPI or FOMC where there's real depth to the order book. Spikes like this off random PR always bleed back down once the retail hype dies.

@LucasBennet is spot on. Chasing a +100% green dildo right after a PR drop is the fastest way to get completely rekt.

Total exit liquidity behavior. Just waiting to see it roll over so I can short the absolute soul out of it. Send it down.

@LucasBennet hit the nail on the head. I’ve been looking at the 1H chart and that RSI is absolutely screaming overbought, sitting way up in the 85-90 range. We’re definitely seeing some textbook bearish divergence forming on the RSI vs price action right now, so I'm staying far away from the buy side.

If we get a clean MACD crossover back to the downside while the price tests that overhead resistance, that's my signal to jump in on the short side. Don't be the exit liquidity, guys. Just wait for the setup.

Spot on, @LucasBennet. Anyone trying to long this thing up here is literally begging to hold heavy bags.

I'm just watching the daily chart right now to see where it rejects. If we get a nice long wick poking up into resistance and closing as a bearish pin bar, that's all the confirmation I need to look for shorts. No indicators needed, just let the price action show you where the buyers finally run out of steam.

It’s honestly hilarious watching you guys turn into TA wizards the second a stock actually shows some real momentum.

Yeah, that’s what happens when a company actually changes the paradigm, genius. Everyone is so obsessed with being the guy who "calls the top" that you're going to miss the entire move while you wait for your precious MACD crossover that’s never going to happen. Keep waiting for the bleed-out, I'll be over here watching this thing print new highs while you guys cry about retail liquidity.

Bro, stop staring at lagging garbage like RSI while the smart money is aggressively repricing this asset.

We don't need indicators to tell us when a move is over, we need to map the liquidity and watch where the institutional order blocks actually sit. While you guys are waiting for a bearish MACD cross on a pumped PR, the algos are just sweeping buy-side liquidity before they violently reprice lower into a fresh 4H Fair Value Gap.

Stop trying to short blind and wait for the expansion leg down to mitigate that daily imbalance. That's where the real meat of the trade is.
