Hey guys, super new to forex trading so please go easy on me mate. I was reading the headlines today and saw that Sterling is creeping up mostly because of a drag in US tech stocks. Ngl I am pretty confused by how this works. Why does tech struggling in the US suddenly make the Pound look good? Is it just because traders are dumping the dollar or is there something deeper going on with sentiment?
I’ve been paper trading Cable lately and was actually looking for a short entry, but now I’m getting massive FOMO seeing it turn green. I really don't want to get caught on the wrong side of a trend, but I also don't understand if this is a real pump or just a temporary distraction while equities bleed out.
For the experienced traders here, how do you guys actually play this kind of cross-market news? Are you holding off until the US market settles down, or is this just a quick scalp setup for you?
