EURGBP and USDCAD setups after getting wrecked on bots

Alright traders, listen up. I am writing this while staring at my dual-monitor setup with a fresh cup of cold coffee sitting next to me, completely nursing a mild headache from yesterday's absolute bloodbath. If you saw my last post about deploying that new automated grid scalping algorithm across my forex accounts, well... let us just say the market decided to teach me a very expensive, humbling lesson about liquidity sweeps during low-volume sessions. I am officially down a solid chunk of change, my ego is bruised, and my automated scripts are currently paused while I manually comb through the charts to figure out where everything went sideways.

Let us talk about EURGBP first because I was looking at the daily charts this morning and it is giving me major flashbacks to my bot getting trapped in a false breakout. That recent wave analysis showing the pair breaking clean through the support zone between 0.8360—which previously held wave 3 down—and slicing right through the down channel trendline from June is brutal. The momentum accelerated fast, exactly like what happened to my short-term grid when volatility spiked unexpectedly. When a key structural level like that gives way with heavy volume, holding onto a stubborn long position out of pure hope is just asking to get margin called. The charts are pointing down toward that 0.8300 handle, and honestly, trying to catch falling knives on crosses like this is how you end up staring at a zeroed-out balance.

Then we have USDCAD over on the other side of my screen. Looking at the Elliott Wave counts, it is continuing that messy double three or double zigzag corrective rally structure from the January low. Wave (W) topped out near 1.4248 before that sharp drop into wave (X) at 1.3732, and now the subsequent advance in wave (Y) is showing exhaustion. The technical read favors further weakness coming up in a 3-wave zigzag pattern, which means the bulls are getting exhausted up here. I ran a quick backtest on a USDCAD short strategy last night just to see if my risk parameters could handle the chop, and the drawdown curves looked terrifying. Too many fakeouts around these inflection points.

Here is the raw truth I learned the hard way after watching my automated testing session implode: no matter how clean your indicators look or how smart your python script is supposed to be, if you do not respect hard stops and dynamic volatility adjustments, the market will find your weak spot. I thought my DCA parameters were bulletproof, but a sudden liquidity hunt wiped out three tiers of orders in less than ninety seconds because my spread widened wider than a football field. Never trust a backtest that hasn't survived a real, ugly macro sweep.

Anyway, my broker just pinged me about margin utilization on an open CAD position so I need to go check my exposures before New York fully opens. Are any of you actually trusting automated bots in this current chop, or are you strictly manual scalping like the old days?
