Seeing EUR/USD sitting down around these 17-month lows with all the political chaos and fiscal drama brewing in Europe is giving me massive flashbacks. I remember getting utterly wrecked a few years back trying to bottom-fish the Euro just because it felt "historically cheap." Ngl, trying to catch falling knives when headline risk is this heavy is a quick way to blow up an account, no matter how clean your technical setup looks on the 4-hour chart.
The biggest lesson I learned from trading European political messes over the last decade is that macro trends driven by fiscal instability tend to drag on way longer than retail traders expect. Everyone gets FOMO wanting to catch that exact bottom for a legendary swing trade, but the market can stay irrational way longer than your margin can handle the drawdown. If you are looking to long the Euro here or scalp a mean reversion bounce, keep your position sizes tiny and your stops tight.
When fundamental weight is this heavy, preserving capital always beats trying to be a hero. Personally, I am refusing to hold any heavy directional swing positions until the political dust settles, sticking purely to quick intraday scalps off major support zones.
Are you guys staying clear of Euro pairs right now or are you actively shorting into every little rally?
