IG Group Selloff Overreaction or a Sign of Shaky Hedging and Order Flow?

Hey everyone, has anyone else been looking closely at the recent carnage with IG Group? Ngl, seeing a major player plunge nearly 27% in a single session because of a botched hedging shift in their OTC derivatives book is pretty wild. They dropped retention down to 70% from their usual 80%, and now everyone is trying to figure out if this is just an isolated blunder or a crack in the broader broker space.

The price action right after the news was brutal, dragging down CMC and Plus500 with it before management stepped in with the usual "business as usual" PR statements. CMC's founder even stepped up to buy millions in shares to defend the level, which honestly worked to stabilize the short-term trend. But looking at the order flow and current support zones on these names, I'm wondering if the macro headwinds like low VIX are quietly hurting everyone's margins underneath the surface. Plus500 and Pepperstone are claiming record metrics, but we won't really know who's exposed until the next round of earnings drops.

Are you guys treating this IG dip as a massive value buy near major multi-month support, or are you steering clear of the retail broker sector completely while these margin and risk-management changes play out?

Man, everybody's panicking over a little liquidity sweep. Look at the daily timeframe—price just went straight for the institutional order block and tapped into a juicy daily FVG before catching bids. Classic retail trap to clear out weak longs before the real markup phase. If you're sweating a normal market maker discount array test, you shouldn't even be trading CFDs. Let's see if we get a proper BOS on the 1-hour and I'm loading up heavy on the buy side.
