Hey everyone, absolute beginner here so please go easy on me lol. I was looking at the forex charts today and saw the Indian rupee just bounced back hard from near its record lows because the central bank, the RBI, stepped in with some support measures.

Ngl, I'm super confused about how this actually works in practice. Does a central bank stepping in like this usually mean a quick relief rally, or is it just a temporary band-aid on a bigger downtrend? I'm trying to figure out if this is something worth trading or if I should just sit on my hands and watch from the sidelines. For the experienced forex traders out there, how do you usually play these central bank interventions without getting trapped? Any advice for a newbie trying to make sense of all this?

Man, USD/INR is always such a trap with RBI constantly lurking in the background. Honestly, I wouldn't touch it based on just a bounce off lows unless I see a solid rejection wick right off a major daily support zone. Keep it simple, wait for a strong pin bar or an engulfing candle on the higher timeframes, otherwise you're just flipping coins against central bank intervention.
