Honestly guys, I’m seeing everyone celebrate these RBI measures like they’ve actually solved something, but let’s be real for a second. The mainstream media is pushing this "steady" Asia FX narrative while the dollar is sitting at an 18-month high, and it smells like a total bull trap to me. Calling the market steady right now is like saying a house is fine because the curtains aren't on fire yet, even though the basement is flooded. The RBI jumping in to prop up the Rupee feels less like a recovery and more like a desperate attempt to manufacture liquidity before the next leg down.
I’m looking at the DXY and ngl, it feels incredibly overextended. Everyone is piled into the same long dollar trade, and we know exactly how that ends when the music stops. If you’re FOMOing into the Rupee just because of some central bank intervention, you’re basically betting on a band-aid to fix a gunshot wound. I’ve seen this play out before where a "jump" is just a gift for the big boys to exit their positions at a better price. I’m not buying the "steady" hype for a second because when the dollar finally decides to move, these Asian currencies are going to face a reality check that no amount of RBI measures can stop.
Are we actually seeing a floor here, or is this just the calm before the DXY nukes everything else?
