Hey everyone, I’ve been trying to follow the charts this morning and I noticed the Euro is taking a bit of a hit while the dollar is climbing. I’ve been reading about the political turmoil over in France and I’m just trying to wrap my head around why that makes the currency dip so much. Honestly, I'm still pretty new to forex and usually just watch stocks, so this whole international news stuff is a bit overwhelming for me.
Are these kinds of dips typical when there is instability in Europe, or is the dollar just being lifted by the stock market rebound? I’m worried about jumping in and getting caught on the wrong side of the trade, so I’m holding off for now. Does anyone think this is a good spot to look for a long-term position, or should I be looking to scalp these moves instead? Any advice for someone trying to learn how to play these news-driven swings would be seriously appreciated.
