Hey everyone, just been chewing over the latest financial services roundup and seeing names like SoFi and Experian pop up always makes me sit up and take notice. Back in the day, I got badly chopped up trying to swing trade fintechs during the hype cycle, mostly because I ignored basic position sizing and let FOMO take the wheel. Ngl, watching SoFi claw its way back tests my patience big time, but experience has taught me to wait for clear structure on the daily before throwing any size at it. Experian is usually a bit more of a steady compounder, way less of a wild rollercoaster, but the macro environment right now means even the boring credit bureaus are feeling the squeeze. If you guys are looking to trade these, please keep your stops tight and don't marry the bag if the thesis breaks. How are you guys playing the financials right now, scaling in slow or just sitting on cash?

Honestly don't get the sudden bull thesis on SoFi. We're still dealing with sticky inflation and a Fed that isn't going to aggressively cut rates anytime soon, no matter what the pivot-believers want to think.

SoFi is sitting on a massive pile of unsecured personal loans right as the average consumer is running out of pandemic savings and maxing out credit cards. Experian might get plenty of business just from people obsessively checking their tanking credit scores, but fintech lending is going to get hammered when delinquency rates really start popping. Macro-wise, consumer credit is a minefield right now. I'm staying far away.
