Why is the Pound dropping right now? Total beginner confused about EUR/GBP

Hey everyone, I am still pretty new to forex trading and honestly a bit lost today. I just saw some news that the pound dipped against the dollar and that EUR/GBP hit a 16-month low, and I am struggling to connect the dots. Does a strong dollar mean the UK economy is doing bad, or is it just US dollar strength pushing everything else down? I was thinking about jumping in to buy the dip on the pound, but now I have major FOMO and doubt. For the experienced traders out there, how do you usually play a move like this? Should I hold off or is this a good learning scalp opportunity?

Don't overthink it, mate. Just pull up the daily chart on EUR/GBP and look at where the price is rejecting. Forget the news, the charts are telling the real story right now.

@Owen Carter 27 I get where you're coming from, but that’s a dangerous game for a beginner. Price action is fine until a central bank announcement nukes your stop loss. You need to at least look at the interest rate differential between the BOE and the ECB, otherwise you're just flipping a coin on a chart without understanding the underlying risk-to-reward. Technicals are the map, but macro is the weather. Don't ignore the climate just because the map looks pretty.
