Saw the news about ASIC dropping their proposals for exchange capital, custody, and trading standards today, and honestly, it brought back some heavy memories from the 2022 blowups. Back when things went south and platforms started halting withdrawals, I had a decent chunk locked up on an exchange that suddenly went radio silent. Ngl, watching the charts while staring at a withdrawal pending screen is a unique kind of torture that ages you ten years in a week.

Regulators pushing for 2027 might feel miles away, but if you have been around the block a few times, you know these framework shifts change how liquidity moves way before the deadline actually hits. Platforms are going to start scrambling to meet these capital and custody standards, which usually means tighter spreads, heavier KYC, and maybe some weird volume dips as the dodgy players get weeded out.

My biggest rule of thumb learned the hard way after getting burned in the past is simple: not your keys, not your coins, unless you are actively trading a short term scalp or waiting to execute. If I am holding anything longer than a swing trade, it goes straight to cold storage, period. Don't let compliance news trigger FOMO or panic selling either; the market always digests regulation eventually and just finds new ways to move.

How are you guys handling your custody setup right now with all these global regulatory cracks starting to show?
