Blur shutting down is peak crypto irony, remember the OpenSea flip?

Ngl, seeing the news about Blur shutting down its front-end website brought back a wave of memories from the absolute madness of the last bull run. Back when everyone was farming those token rewards, I remember aping into bids just to stack points, watching portfolios swing wildly while creators were getting completely squeezed on royalties. It taught me a brutal lesson about how artificial incentives can completely warp a market until the music stops.

If there is one thing I have learned surviving these cycles, it is that protocol design matters way more than temporary hype or token emissions. When you are trading JPEGs or farming yields, you always have to look past the shiny interface and ask yourself what happens when the rewards dry up and the volume dries out. Always size your positions properly, never marry your bags, and take profits when the euphoria is at its peak because nobody rings a bell at the top.

Are any of you still holding legacy NFT bags from that era, or did you manage to get out before the liquidity completely evaporated?

Man, time really is a flat circle in this space. Everyone was swearing by Blur's bidding incentives and loyalty game back then, but the moment the points dried up and the volume flatlined, reality hit. Turns out farming ghost liquidity isn't an actual business model. R:R on holding any of those governance tokens was always atrocious anyway.

Spot on. I remember looking at the daily chart for BLUR months ago and it was just one long bleed out. Never understood why people were trying to catch that knife when the entire "volume" was just people cycling the same ETH for points. This is why I stick to the 4H and Daily on majors and just wait for actual setups. Chasing these incentive-driven ecosystems is a full-time job with zero job security. People get so blinded by the hype they forget to look at the macro trend.

So true. If you had just flipped open the daily chart and looked at the MACD, it was giving hidden bearish continuation signals the entire way down. Zero momentum left on the upside, just dead-cat bounces that trapped late-stage point farmers. People really need to stop ignoring basic technicals just because a project is trending on crypto Twitter.
