Why is everyone buying the dollar hype while Cable looks like a giant trap?

Everyone and their nan is suddenly back to screaming King Dollar just because Fed repricing is back on the menu, while acting like the Pound edging up today means Sterling is somehow finding real demand. Ngl, it feels like pure retail herd mentality right now. Traders are happily chasing green USD candles at local resistance, convinced the Fed can keep pulling off this hawkish narrative forever without breaking something under the hood.

Meanwhile, folks are watching the Pound nudge higher against the euro and convincing themselves the worst is behind us. Come on, mate. UK macro hasn't magically turned a corner overnight, and this pathetic little bounce looks like classic liquidity hunting before the floor drops out. Chasing USD momentum up here feels like peak FOMO, but trusting Sterling strength feels even more delusional.

Are you guys actually loading up on dollar longs at these levels, or is anyone else looking to fade this entire move?

I’m glad I’m not the only one feeling this way. Cable has been looking incredibly shaky lately, and honestly, the DXY strength feels like it's being forced a bit. I’ve been sitting on my hands for the last few days because the 4H charts just look like a mess of wicks with no real direction. Everyone is rushing to pick a side, but I’d rather wait for a proper daily structure break than get chopped up in this noise. Patience is the only thing keeping my account alive right now.

@EthanCole man you hit the nail on the head. Sitting on hands is literally the only profitable move right now while everyone else tries to catch falling knives.

Wait until the NFP prints drop on Friday, that's when all these fakeouts are gonna clear out and we'll actually see who's holding the bag.

Big facts. Got my stop hunted on GBP/USD twice yesterday and took a straight L. Watching from the sidelines now until NFP wipes out all the leverage junkies.
