Ngl I’m pretty new to forex trading and mostly stuck to tech stocks and crypto until recently, so this whole macro thing is kinda breaking my brain. I just saw the news today about the US dollar holding steady while AI stock jitters are somehow causing the yen to jump and beating up the euro at the same time. I guess I just don't fully get the connection here. What does tech earnings or AI fear have to do with Asian and European currencies?
Is the yen basically acting like a safe haven every time big tech takes a hit? I was looking to open a small position on EUR/JPY or maybe USD/JPY today, but now I’m genuinely terrified of getting wrecked by unexpected volatility. I definitely don't want to fall into a FOMO trap or short something right before a massive reversal. If tech stocks keep bleeding, does that mean the euro is going to keep dragging lower while JPY moons?
How do you veteran traders actually play these risk-off moves when stock market fear bleeds into FX? Any quick advice or sanity checks for a newbie before I blow up my tiny account trying to scalp this?
