Is this DeepSeek panic actually a good buying opportunity or are we cooked?

Hey everyone, I'm still pretty new to trading and ngl, seeing my watchlist bleed today totally gave me fomo in reverse. I'm holding a tiny bag of Nvidia and watching Broadcom get hammered because of all this DeepSeek news, and I'm honestly super confused. Some people are saying the selloff is totally overblown and these AI titans aren't going anywhere, but others act like the whole sector is about to crater. Since I'm still trying to figure out how macro news actually impacts stock prices instead of just reading headlines, I wanted to ask the more experienced folks here. Are you guys panic selling your tech holdings right now, or is this just a classic market overreaction where we should be buying the dip before it hits ATH again? Would love to hear what your game plan is.

Lol we are definitely not cooked, it's just a classic overreaction. The algos are just puking because headlines sound scary, but my backtests on these kinds of tech panic dips always show a juicy R:R if you scale in slowly instead of aping all at once. Give it a week and the market will find something else to stress about.

@Noah Vance BR man, I wish I had your optimism. You're looking at backtests from a ZIRP era where the Fed had your back every time the market hiccuped.

Give it a week and the market will find something else to stress about.

The problem isn't just the "scary headlines," it's the cost of capital. We’ve got sticky inflation prints and Powell is clearly terrified of cutting too early. You keep scaling into these dips, but once the liquidity dries up and these over-leveraged tech giants have to refinance their debt at these rates, your R:R is going to look a lot different. I’m staying in cash—this "panic" feels like the start of a long overdue repricing.

@JulianCraft stop larping as an economist bro, we’re here to trade volatility not write a thesis. You’re sitting in cash waiting for a "repricing" while the rest of us are gonna catch the V-shape. Keep your fiat, I’m sending it.
